Hosted by AKEBI in collaboration with the Sudanahye Project

📅 When: Thursday, December 11, 2025, 18:30
📍 Where: AKEBI, Böckhstraße 24, 10967 Berlin

Join us for the opening of this unique photo exhibition! Vahe Boghosian, director of the Sudanahye Project, will introduce the history of Armenian life in colonial Sudan and present the project’s vision.

The Sudanahye Project is a research and archival initiative documenting Sudanese-Armenian history—opening a broader conversation about shared paths of exile, British colonialism in Sudan, and its enduring impact. Sudanahye seeks to create a reflective space where Sudanese and Armenian scholars, community organizers, and cultural practitioners can exchange perspectives on the legacies of empire and the challenges of memory-making across diasporas.

A key goal of the project is also to raise funds to support Sudanese aid and relief efforts.

Sudanahye Project is also organizing a panel discussion on December 8 at 19:00 at Letterage (ACUD Studios) titled “From Colonial Histories to Solidarities across Armenian and Sudanese Diasporas”, in collaboration with SudanUprising.

We look forward to welcoming you at the event!
